INP (Interaction to Next Paint) replaced FID in March 2024. It measures the delay between a user action (click, keystroke, tap) and the next visual update of the page. Unlike FID which only measured the first interaction, INP measures all interactions. Thresholds: < 200 ms = excellent, 200–500 ms = needs improvement, > 500 ms = poor.
